This year, the Waves Music Festival & Conference takes place for the forth time from the 1st – 5th of October and again presents itself with quite a few innovations. Still staying true to the festival’s motto “East Meets West“, the festival continues to strengthen the network between Eastern and Western Europe and manifests this in its choice of location: After the successful debut of Waves Bratislava in 2013, the Waves festival will again also be held in Bratislava and has now for the first time expanded its conference program to take place in both Vienna and Bratislava.

New Venues
This year Waves Vienna has relocated its premises from the 2nd to the 1st district of Vienna. In addition to already proven locations (such as Flex, Badeschiff and Music Train), the Konzerthaus, Porgy & Bess, Brut, Heuer at Karlsplatz, Haus der Musik and Xpedit Lager will serve as exciting new venues for the festival’s tremendous line-up. In 2014 the Waves Music Festival Center will settle into the Old Post Office in the Dominkanerbastei, whereas the Waves Music Conference Center will take up the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

Focus Countries Croatia and The Netherlands
This year the festival will set the spotlight on Croatia and the Netherlands with a special focus on Croatian and Dutch acts and industry experts in the music line-up and the conference program.
