Celebrating the extraordinary talents emerging from the European music landscape, these nominees are set to take center stage and captivate audiences worldwide. Announced at Ireland Music Week (Dublin), and simultaneously at the SoAlive Music Conference (Sofia) and Reconnect (Brno), on Wednesday, October 2nd, we proudly present the fifteen nominees for the Music Moves Europe Awards 2025; Boko Yout (SE), Daniela Pes (IT), Hillari (NO), Joalin (FI), Judeline (ES), Kingfishr (IE), Loverman (BE), Maella (CZ), Mina Okabe (DK), Naomi Sharon (NL), Night Tapes (EE), UCHE YARA (AT), Woomb (BG), Yamê (FR) and Zimmer90 (DE).
MME AWARDS Nominee: UCHE YARA (AT)
Before having released a single song, 21-year-old UCHE YARA already confirmed over 45 festivals all across Europe, including Les TransMusicales, Pitchfork London, Wilderness and MELT Festival, as well as opening for Bilderbuch, Parcels, Marc Rebillet. The Austrian singer, multi-instrumentalist, performer and songwriter went straight from her high school finals to the big stage, playing for tens of thousands of people. In September, at last, her debut song was released. As a love song for our mother earth, “www she hot” received enthusiastic feedback and landed in prestigious playlists (BBC Radio 6 Lauren Laverne’s Show, German Airplay Charts #149, FM4 Airplay Charts #1 and global playlists such as Lorem, ANTI POP, Fresh Finds and NMF). The next single, ‘Sophie,’ proved to be just as successful. She was part of the EQUAL campaign, making a vibrant appearance on NYC’s Times Square. UCHE YARA also gave her first interview with NME, marking a significant milestone in her career. Excitingly, UCHE YARA announced her inaugural tour named GOLDEN DAYS, scheduled for May 2024. Additionally, she made her debut on television with a captivating performance on CultureBox in France.
European Union Prize
The Music Moves Europe Awards (MME Awards) is the European Union Prize celebrating the emerging artists who represent the European sound of today and tomorrow. The MME Awards are designed to accelerate the international careers of upcoming European artists. In the past 20 years ; Zaho de Sagazan, Stromae, Alyona Alyona, ROSALÍA, Meduza, Dua
Lipa, Sans Soucis, Hozier and Christine and the Queens won an MME Award.
Public Choice Award
Music fans across Europe can now vote to choose the winner of the MME Public Choice Award 2025 through the MME Awards website.
Prize package
Five artists will be selected as winners by an international jury and one artist will be chosen for the Grand Jury Prize. All winners will be revealed at the MME Awards ceremony on Thursday 16 January, 2025 at ESNS in Groningen, the Netherlands. Each winner will receive €10.000. The winner of the Grand Jury Award will receive an additional green touring voucher worth €5.000. The winner of the MME Public Choice Award 2025 will receive €5.000.
Live at ESNS
All fifteen nominees are invited to play at Eurosonic Noorderslag ESNS Festival in Groningen, the Netherlands and also to join the MME education program, with best practices in the music industry, organised by ESNS and the partners of the MME Awards: Liveurope, Yourope, Live DMA, IMPALA, Digital Music Europe, ICMP-CIEM, International Music Managers Forum (IMMF) and European Music Exporters Exchange (EMEE).
The MME Awards is a key component of the European Union’s efforts to support and promote the European music sector. It aims to empower emerging artists and professionals in the industry while fostering a united and diverse European music scene.
