Two Austrian Acts Performing at jazzahead! 2014

jazzahead!, Bremen/Germany
April 24 – 27, 2014

This year the ninth edition of the music fair and showcase festival jazzahead! will feature the Austrian jazz acts Kompost 3 and Rom/Schaerer/Eberle. For both combos the jazzahead! festival is an excellent opportunity to perform in front of an international audience and get their names out there.

KOMPOST 3
Date & Time: Saturday, April 26 | 6:00 p.m.
Venue: Halle 2
kompost3Martin Eberle (trumpet, horn), Benny Omerzell (organ, rhodes), Manu Mayr (electronics, bass) and Lukas König (drums, samples), the four heads of Kompost 3, are experts in bridging musical gaps. Representing a young generation that has defied and overcome old-school thinking patterns, the quartet treads a musical path that leads them to a very distinctive and unique overall sound. All of their pieces sound very innovative, imaginative, complex, varied and refreshingly non-dogmatic. The music is based on jazz elements, but also includes funk, bombastic art rock, sound art, trip hop, minimal techno and various forms of club music. A mix that is definitely not very common.

ROM/SCHAERER/EBERLE
Date & Time: Saturday, April 26 | 10:00 p.m.
Venue: Kulturzentrum Schlachthof
rom_schaerer_eberleA guitar, a trumpet and an organ are all Peter Rom, Martin Eberle and Andreas Schaerer need to realize their sonic visions and ideas. Listening to their music that is settled somewhere between beatboxing, crazy vocal art, rocking jazz elements, pop and African sound traditions, you sometimes get the feeling as if the songs were recorded on the fly at one of their jam sessions. Of course, this is not the case, but the music of this trio comes along with such a fluency and easiness and always feels very spontaneous and never tediously constructed.
