The Great Escape (TGE) is a festival that showcases emerging artists from all over the world. Over 500 up and coming bands play in 30+ walkable venuess across Brighton, which makes TGE one of the first places to discover new favorite bands and see them in an intimate setting before they go on to headline major festival stages. TGE20 will take place from May 13-16, 2020 in Brighton, UK.
Please note: Due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) The Great Escape 2020 has been cancelled. The Great Escape will be back on 12th – 15th May 2021 for a belated 15th year.
Among the artists for the 2020 line-up are Altin Gün, Best Coast, Aitch, Arlo Parks, Fontaines DC, Ghostpoet, Moyka, Oklou and Shygirl. From Austria, Alicia Edelweiss, Anger, Friedberg and Good Wilson are announced for the festival.

In the last years, Austrian acts such as 5K HD, Leyya, Cari Cari, Mavi Phoenix, AVEC, Mile Me Deaf and more played successful showcases in Brighton. TGE is also attended by the music industry who are on the hunt for the next big thing. TGE runs a convention alongside the gigs featuring insightful panels, topical debates, keynote speeches and networking opportunities in abundance. This year, Southkorea will be TGE´s lead international partner and the festival will be highlighting the South Korean music industry and new talents throughout the program. The Alternative Escape, the Brighton Dome Shows, secret gigs, club nights and spontaneous collaborations all add to the festivities.
