The Waves Vienna Pro Program will kick off on Thursday, 4th of October, with a joint Polish and Austrian reception at Hotel Stefanie 3pm to 4pm. Paula & Karol (PL) and Violetta Parisini (AT) will cater for the music side of the event and free drinks and finger food will be served to satisfy hunger.
Violetta Parisini, representative for the Austrian music scene that afternoon, is a parade example for a successful singer/ songwriter – sometimes sweet, but often spiked with bitter overtones. In January this year she released her second album “Open Secrets” and surprised with a sound way more reduced but at the same time friskier than her first approach.
The Polish representatives are Paula & Karol, who are actually a Canadian-Polish Duo. Together they write cheerful folk songs with even merrier folk instruments.
Their songs, filled with sweeping melodies and lyrics that mainly involve affinity and love, reach all generations and nationalities. Hardly surprising that The Guardian took notice of them.
