About OSKA
Growing up in a small village in Lower Austria, OSKA moved to Vienna at 18 to study her first love: music. She started busking in streets and squares of the capital while also studying pop and jazz singing. She signed to Nettwerk in 2020 and released her debut EP Honeymoon Phase in 2021 to critical acclaim. She won the XA Music Export Award at the Waves Vienna Showcase festival in 2020, got 5 nominations for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in 2021 and 2022 (she won “Best Sound” in 2022), and was nominated for the Anchor Award at the Reeperbahn Festival in September 2021, where she was discovered by jury member Tom Odell, who asked her to join him on his European tour. She followed the EP with her debut album “My World, My Love, Paris” in February 2022, comprised of 12 songs that see OSKA weave together tales of her family life and the experience of being a young person growing up in the world. With candor and charm, her authentic self comes through in honest lyricism and tender melodies.
OSKA charmed audiences across Europe in 2022, playing around 100 shows. Besides her own tour through Austria and Germany, she made her Great Escape debut and joined label-mate Stu Larsen in spring for his tour, before linking up with Tom Odell as support act for his European Tour (19 countries) and Matt Simons and HAEVN for shows across the Netherlands. The year 2023 started with not only performing at the Eurosonic Showcase Festival but also winning her a Music Moves Europe Talent Award at the Eurosonic. Former winners include artists like Rosalía, Dua Lipa, Stromae, Hozier, Adele, Mumford & Sons, or Christine and the Queens. The Music Moves Europe Awards is the European Union-funded prize that celebrates the emerging artists who represent the European sound of today and tomorrow. The annual awards are designed to accelerate the international careers of upcoming European acts. In April, she joined SYML on his European, UK, & Ireland tour. OSKA started releasing new music from her upcoming second album in March 2024; her first single,”Like a Song,” enchants listeners with her infectious indie-pop sound and elegant songwriting. ““Like A Song” was the first idea I had for the second album. I had this little guitar idea in Sweden, and I just carried that melody for two years in my phone,” OSKA says. “There was a person who gave me a lot of inspiration for this song and the album because of the positive influence this person still has in my life. It’s an important and amazing friendship.”
At the same time, in March 2024, she gave her US live debut by performing at the New Colossus Festival in New York, SXSW in Austin, Texas, and at the New New Festival in Dallas. In August 2024, she joined global superstars Coldplay as a support act at their 4 sold-out stadium shows in Vienna, Austria, followed by 3 shows with one of Germany’s most successful bands – Silbermond.
OSKA recently finished her second album, which will be released in June 2025. She gave a glimpse into her new music during her Headline European tour in fall 2024 and will tour again in 2025/2026. In its heartfelt hope for renewal, the new album pictures OSKA at the start of something — and some place — new. She hasn’t quite arrived yet, but her faith that she will shines all throughout.
