Live Incubator is a project created by SPOT Festival, Fermaten and SCALA, to gather a new generation of the European music industry to ideate, develop and fundraise international projects within the live music industry. Emerging professionals can apply to be a part of the project by March 3rd.
About Live Incubator
The 20 emerging music professionals will work on solving the most pressing challenges in the Danish and European live sector, through 4 online workshop sessions (March 18 – April 15 – May 20 – June 3, 16.30-19.00 CET), and a bootcamp in Aarhus + attending SPOT (Arrival on April 29 – departure May 3). During the total duration of the project there will be additional online coaching for all project teams to help actively develop your project. The goal of Live Incubator is for the new generation of the European music industry to ideate, develop and fundraise international projects within the live music industry.
In January 2024, Live Incubator was launched as a transnational project in collaboration between SPOT Festival, Scala, and Fermaten, with support from the European Cultural Region and Tuborg Foundation.
Live Incubator was created to bring together entrepreneurial young cultural and industry professionals across Europe’s borders. The project addresses shared challenges in the music industry and has engaged 10 young professionals from Central Jutland and 10 from other European countries in developing solutions that not only work today but also have the potential to shape the future.
The program culminates in three intensive days of project development leading up to SPOT Festival, where the results will be presented at SPOT+.
Profile of emerging professionals
Within the selection for Live Incubator 2025 there is space for 10 people living in or in some way connected to the Danish region Midtjylland and 10 people that reside in one of the Creative Europe-eligible countries (including EU countries and listed non-EU countries), who work within the live sector, and are 35 y/o or younger.
The selection of the 20 emerging music industry professionals will be based on their experience in developing projects, project ideas, vision for the future music industry and interest in creating further collaborations across the European live sector with 19 like-minded and ambitious professionals.
We believe that an inclusive team makes every project stronger and therefor we want to invite all people up to the age of 35 to apply.
What’s included?
The 2025 edition of Live Incubator will be free to attend. All emerging professionals will furthermore receive mentorship on developing projects as well as individual career mentorship, tickets for SPOT Festival and SPOT+ Conference. Additionally, participants living outside Denmark will receive accommodation plus a travel budget with a maximum of 300 EUR to help cover for public transportation / flight costs.
