Open Call! “Building Bridges”: Mission c/o pop 2025

Austrian Music Export launched the “Building Bridges” capacity-building program in 2023 with a focus on training and international exchange. This is aimed at people in the music industry and thus primarily the people “behind” the artists – i.e. primarily labels, publishers, management, etc. Our next mission takes us to c/o pop in Cologne (April 23-27). Deadline to apply is March 31, 2025.

Our next mission takes us to c/o pop in Cologne, one of the most important meeting places for the German music industry and an ideal platform for getting in touch with labels, booking agencies, promoters and the media. The festival is known for its flair for newcomer acts, addressing future issues and actively promoting diversity, equality and inclusion. Worth a trip in itself!

As part of our mission, we will – because the media city of Cologne demands it – take up a brief impulse on the topic of media, but focus mainly on the LIVE sector. Using keynote speeches and networking formats, we want to actively address the work and interaction with our market and learn how we can improve and intensify existing connections.

APPLICATION DETAILS

The program is primarily aimed at music business people from all music genres – these are above all the economically active people “behind” the artists, i.e. labels, publishers, managements, agencies. The trip is considered particularly useful for entrepreneurs with at least initial experience in cross-border music marketing.

Due to the limited number of participants, only one person per company can be supported.

How do I apply and how will I be selected?

Please send us a short, maximum one-page letter of motivation. Include relevant personal information covering your interest, field of work and any reference productions you have already worked on.

Please also indicate whether you are interested in pitching at the LiveDMA General Assembly.

The number of participants is limited. Participants will be selected by Austrian Music Export; applicants will receive a formal acceptance or rejection for funding or participation by 03.04.2025.

What does it cost?

The mission is organized by Austrian Music Export and co-financed by LSG Producers and the Association of the Film and Music Industry. This provides a maximum possible cost subsidy of EUR 800 per person. Travel, accommodation and festival/conference tickets must be organized by the participants themselves; costs will be subsidized upon presentation of receipts. Discounted tickets are available for fellow travelers.
