Within the framework of the funding initiative NOperas! of the Fonds Experimentelles Musiktheater [feXm], several theatres join together to form an association. Together with feXm, they realise a project that is shown at the participating theatres within one season. Applications are open to teams from all over Europe who are jointly responsible for the interaction of the theatre levels (composition, text, direction, stage).The deadline to apply is July 15th, 2022.
Call for projects 2022
With the current call for proposals for the 2023/24 season, NOperas! is entering its fifth round. The participating theatres this season are Theater Bremen, Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen and Staatstheater Darmstadt. Beyond the resources contributed by the theatres themselves, feXm provides funding of up to 200,000 euros for the tendered production.
Who can apply?
As a funding initiative, feXm is oriented towards an expanded understanding of music theatre that is not fixed on forms of contemporary opera. The focus is on processual work in several rehearsal phases. Applications are open to teams from all over Europe who are jointly responsible for the interaction of the theatre levels (composition, text, direction, stage). A jury of recognised experts in the field of contemporary music theatre decides together with the participating theatres on the selection of the project to be realised.
Application deadline
The deadline for applications is July 15th, 2022. A jury decision is expected to be announced in September 2022.
