The sad fact is that there will be no regular Live at Heart festival this year. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the Live at Heart meeting place cannot be carried out as usual. BUT: Instead the festival decided to stream a Showcase festival during the first week of September so it is possible to participate anyway, no matter where you’re based!
AUSTRIAN HEARTBEATS AT live at heart
PLEASE MADAME
Please Madame are no strangers in the austrian indie-rock scene. After their debut LP ‘Escape the Nest’ and their EP ‘Back to the Start’ the band from Salzburg now presents their second album ‘Young Understanding’. At home in the world, unattached, fierce and free – with a fresh and bold view at the challenges life has to offer Please Madame mirror the sense of life of their generation. Young Understanding is full of feel-good songs with emotional depths, memorable lyrics and rhythms, refined by the powerful voice of lead singer Dominik. Their sound is a mix of indie-rock that is excellent for dancing and melancholic synth-pop, which also make their energetic live shows worth experiencing.

MARINA & THE KATS
Marina & The Kats are right on the mark with their unique Neoswing sound. They take inspiration from everywhere, including the silence, even though their concerts are rarely serene affairs. M&TK also strike a political note without ever pointing a moral finger, and they tell stories that move, that occupy, that leave a mark, even when the last note has long since slunk into the hollows.

ATZUR
ATZUR are the Spanish pianist and singer Patricia and Austrian-Iranian drummer Paul who have been making music together in Vienna since 2018. With a minimalist setup (classical piano, analog synthesizer and acoustic drums) they create a big and epic atmosphere. Their music lives between two worlds, between dreamy and abstract pop, and raw and immediate punk. There is depth and thoughtfulness in the lyrics, in a perfect balance with the energetic driving drums. Piano and synthesizer connect the mind, the feelings and thoughts, vulnerable but self-confident, with the body and beat, rousing and hypnotic.
