Currently playing in heavy rotation on radio stations across Europe with their hit “Sonnentanz”, Klangkarussell have made it to the very top in Europe and are currently filling large concert halls in the continent’s major cities. Successful news posts about this duo seem to be flying in every day – this week with the news that Klangkarussell have landed No.1 on the Dutch Single Charts.
Tobias Rieser and Adrian Held are two young talented musicians from the Austrian city of Salzburg, who have succeeded in the shortest period of time to bring happiness and joy to the hearts of many people worldwide. After only about a month their hit “Sonnentanz” managed to reach over a million views on YouTube, as well as plenty of plays on SoundCloud, bringing them thousands of fans.
To be quite honest, it has been a while since the Austrian electronic music scene has been able to cause such an international stir. When it comes to electronic music, it was especially the city of Vienna that had an international standing during the mid-nineties through to the turn of the millennium. However, as it often so is with hypes, they tend to ebb away. Despite the fertile musical ground that was once created, little truly innovative and new has happened ever since. Meanwhile the number of acts that have been able to establish themselves internationally on the long run adds up to a very limited amount.
On the bright side, recent years have shown that the local electronic music scene is slowly reawakening. A young ambitious generation of electronic musicians and DJs have set out to recapture the international clubs again. Notable mentions here are the successes of Dorian Concept, Ken Hayakawa, Clara Moto and Elektro Guzzi. Another formation that is now front and center is the much talked about Salzburg duo Klangkarussell.
Besides the new deal with the major label Universal, this duo’s current success path seems to have no end, and the demand for the first release, which is imminent and will be at the very least just as successful as their first track, rises day by day.
In the studio Klangkarussell lay their focus on all kinds of genres to ensure unique cross-genre and multi-faceted sound creations. Performing live, Klangkarussell create an atmosphere somewhere between rock concerts and club vibes, topping the expectations of the audience by driving the atmosphere to the maximum, keeping it up there and thus giving every fan an unforgettable experience.
There is no need for a great prophet to foretell that we will probably hear a lot more from this Salzburg duo in the future.
