Supported by the “neue musikzeitung”, the “Christoph and Stephan Kaske Foundation” announces the JukeBoxx-New Music Award. The competition addresses composers and artists working in contemporary Music and media arts, thus giving them a chance to have their current works evaluated by an independent jury. Application Deadline is August 21st, 2022.

The winner awaits a prize of € 4,000. In case of works created together by composer and video artist, the prize will be split in half (€ 2,000 for each artist).

The submitted visualized music should have a duration not exceeding 10 minutes and should contain video productions with interrelated acoustic and visual layers. The jury asks for a production of a visual “Hörspiel” artistically combining contemporary music, electronic or experimental music with media/video arts or digital arts.

The works should be submitted as a video clip of high acoustic and visual quality and must have been composed after January 2020. Participants are permitted to present only a single work.

The jury consists of Minas Borboudakis (composer), Konstantia Gourzi (composer, conductor), Manuela Hartel (media and performance artist), Jörg Lohner (filmmaker / Die Bildmischer Medienproduktion) and Andreas Kolb (editor-in-chief of neue musikzeitung).

Application Deadline is August 21st, 2022.
