International world premiere: a multi-media collaboration between Viennese composer/visual artist Wolfgang Seierl and BMD’s artistic director Lucy Bowen McCauley in a study of movement “from the ground up.”
Seierl filmed McCauley moving in a variety of unique spaces throughout Vienna, Austria in 2011 and used the footage to create a musical score. McCauley developed choreography inspired by the music for her ensemble of dancers. Seierl will join BMD, performing electric guitar with his electronic score.
