47th International Summer Courses for New Music
Darmstadt, Germany
August 2 – 16, 2014
On the 2nd of August, the 47th International Summer Courses for New Music in Darmstadt will celebrate its opening under the artistic direction of Thomas Shepherd with Karlheinz Stockhausen’s epochal space music composition Carré for four orchestras, four choirs and four conductors.
Each year the International Summer Courses for New Music in Darmstadt serves as a hub for interesting, future-oriented artistic concepts and contributions to the development of contemporary music.
This year more than 30 concerts, performances, semi-scenic musical theater and experimental interventions will be featured during the two festival weeks (August 2-16) in Darmstadt.
