From May 4-5 the first international showcase festival in Italy, Indipendulo 2012, will take place in Bologna. Bologna – Unesco Creative City of Music – is launching this new format for the first time in Italy. The event aims to be an open window on the Italian and European independent scene.
Indipendulo is a project by Trovarobato (www.trovarobato.com), Sfera Cubica, TPO and Oderso Rubini who were also involved in establishing MEI (www.meiweb.it), the Italian independent label meeting of Faenza. Now Indipendulo is opening for the first time ever to bands from the rest of Europe.
Indipendulo will be held on the 4th and 5th of May and will include a selection of ten Italian bands and ten foreign acts, all performing in Bologna. The venue hosting this event is the TPO – Teatro Polivalente Occupato, a historical location active since 1995, offering an open air stage and an indoor one.
The convention for delegates will be held in the city centre, in a location made available by the City Council.
The convention will last two days and will include a tour of the city with specific attention to its musical history, aperitif and lunch on Saturday, dinners and meetings. Two nights hotel and full hospitality are offered to each delegate. Selected bands will recieve a 300€ fee, plus hotel and meals on the concert night.
