METRONOME PRAGUE – MUSIC & ARTS FAIR is a three-day music and art event from June 23-25, 2022, that provides its visitors a unique experience right in the center of Prague. The lineup includes names like Beck, Oh Wonder, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, and Austrian artist, FRIEDBERG.
About the festival 2022
With top international stars, multiple art forms, a venue in the centre of the metropolis and perfect timing at the most beautiful time of the year, Metronome Prague is on its way to becoming the number one metropolitan music festival.
Metronome Prague is the first international music and art event held in Prague, the 5th edition of which starts on the 23rd of June at the Prague Exhibition Centre. Thanks to its diversity, the organizers of the event address to all ages and genres of listeners every year. It relies on the current events in modern music, but does not forget the still alive classics of various genres. After four years, the originally two-day music festival is entering a new era. The Metronome Prague – Music and Arts Fair is expanding to include another day. This biggest event of the Prague music summer will also offer other remarkable changes. After a long cultural fast and several moves, first from June to September 2020, then to June 2021 and finally to June 2022, the time has come to kick things up a notch again.
FRIEDBERG
Concert Time & Place: June 25, 19:15, TREE STAGE
Friedberg is an all-female-four-piece based in London, centred around Austrian singer, guitarist and master of cowbells Anna Friedberg. Their music has often been described as a blend of post-punk and alt-rock doused in alluring pop sensibilities – something that is immediately familiar, but also like nothing you’ve ever heard before.
They first stormed onto the scene in 2019 with their debut single ‘BOOM’, a dissonant siren’s call with its ominous riff and seductive, benign vocals. Follow up track ‘Go Wild’ quickly yielded placements with FIFA 20, the BBC’s Normal People adaptation, Netflix’s Biohackers, and other shows around the world. Their debut EP ‘YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH’ (released 19th March), features critically acclaimed singles ‘Pass Me On’, ‘Lizzy’ and ‘Midi 8’. Recorded in equal parts across Berlin and London with collaborators Daniel Brandt (Brandt Brauer Frick), Matthias Biermann (Roosevelt) and Matt Allchin (Florence & The Machine, Soak, George Ezra), ‘YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH’ is a punchy fuzzed-out foray into the inner workings of Anna Friedberg’s mind.
With impressive radio and press support across Europe, and festival slots at Reeperbahn, Eurosonic and BBC Introducing under their belt, Friedberg have already earned a reputation as one of the most exciting new bands around right now.
