First Wave of Impulse Grants Announced

At the end of last year, Austrian Music Export launched the Impulse Program, a new initiative supporting Austrian music on the international stage. Today, the first results are in: Austrian Music Export is happy to announce the recipients of the first wave of Impulse grants!

The Impulse Program is designed to provide support for international live activities: showcase and festival performances, individual events, presentations, performances as a support act, and brief tours – in short, any international activities that promote Austrian music internationally and can reasonably be expected to have a long-term impact.

Impulse Recipients

In response to the first call, which ended on February 14th, Austrian Music Export recieved a total of 37 applications. The jury had a total of €25,000 to grant for this round, which it chose to distribute to the following acts and projects:

  • Dragony, for performances as an opening act in European cities
  • Kurdophone, for a performance at the Babel Music Expo
  • Lucy Dreams, for performances as a support act and at showcases in Canada
  • Omid Darvish & HUUUM, for a performance at the Rewire Festival in The Hague
  • OSKA, for showcase festivals in the United States
  • SALÒ, for club shows with supporting acts in Japan
