CEU SUMMER COURSE 2022 – CULTURAL LEADERSHIP AND CURATORIAL PRACTICES IN MUSIC

After three successful editions, the fourth edition of the CEU (Central European University) SUMMER COURSE will be held in Budapest from June 27 to July 4, 2022. This year’s theme is “Music as Cultural Heritage”. Registrations are open until April 15, 2022.

In 2022 the course will concentrate on cultural leadership, curatorial practices, public outreach, the role of music in urban developments, and the connection between heritage and audience building – major points of discussion within the cultural sector and the creative industries in recent times.

Application from all over the world and from different academic backrounds is encouraged.

The course offers:

  • 8-day intensive summer course with networking possibilities, inspiring and friendly atmosphere 
  • best practices presented by representatives of leading cultural institutions and leaders of major cultural projects (Barbican Centre, Lincoln Center, Philharmonie de Paris, King’s College London, etc.)
  • lectures, round table discussions, field trips and site visits in relevant institutions (MÜPA Budapest, Liszt Academy of Music, House of Music, Hungary), case study analysis focused on current projects and practical examples of contemporary leadership
  • Individual project development under the guidance of experienced instructors
