On September 27 and 28, this year’s Austrian Music Theatre Day will consider questions of ecology and sustainability – both in terms of theatre production and in the works to be presented.
Austrian Music Theatre Day, part of the Musiktheatertage Wien, is a music theatre conference that took place for the first time in 2015; since 2018, it has been produced in cooperation with mica – music austria and Austrian Music Export.
The Musiktheatertage Wien is a festival dedicated to new music theatre and the exploration of novel performance formats and approaches. Austrian Music Theatre Day offers Austria-based makers of music theatre the chance to network and exchange ideas with national and international theatre promoters, making connections that can lead to future cooperation. Austrian producers and artists also have the opportunity to meet and pitch their work to international promoters; networking for the domestic scene is also a feature of the conference.
