The Sziget Festival takes place once a year on Óbuda, an island in the middle of Budapest. It started as a small event in 1993 and has since grown into one of Europe’s largest music festivals, hosting over 1,000 shows on 60 stages. Next to international superstars like Kylie Minogue, Janelle Monáe, and Skrillex, a select crew of Austrian acts will be making the trip down the Danube to our sister city in August.

The Sziget Festival – happening this year from August 7 – 12 – always has an ear to the ground for Austrian talent both established and up-and-coming, and this year is no exception…

This up-and-coming Vienna funk band serves up tight rhythms, sizzling horns, and powerful (German) vocals, paying homage to the legends while carving out their own unique sound. They were the winners of the “Planet Festival Tour” battle of the bands in 2023, and on August 7th, they’re bringing their dynamic show to Szigeti.

Oska won the XA-Export Award at Waves Vienna 2020, and since then her star has only risen. Her 2021 EP “Honeymoon Phase” and 2022 album My World, My Love, Paris made her a darling of Austrian radio; an Amadeus Award and the “Music Moves Europe” award at ESNS 2023 followed, she played her first shows in the US…and she’ll soon be opening for Coldplay in Vienna before heading out on her first European tour as a headliner in the fall. In between, she’ll be making a stop at the Szigeti Festival on August 11th.
