Austrian Acts at Sharpe 2022:

ATZUR

Evolving colourful drama in the world of Alternative Indie Pop: ATZUR dives deep in the extreme feelings, where wild and raw drums meet dramatic and epic melodies.

Founded in Spring 2019, the band signed a record deal with the Austrian label Seayou Records and released their first single “Running”. The single quickly entered the charts of Austria’s Radio FM4 and Germany’s EGOfm and stayed there for several weeks. With their debut EP “Flesh, Blood, Bones” they presented themselves for the first time in 2019 at the Waves Vienna and Reeperbahn Festival. The pandemic was clearly a challenge for the young duo, but still they played at festivals like Poolbar, Future Echoes, Reeperbahn (for the second time again in 2021) and the online versions of Live at Heart and Liverpool Sound City. They have been internationally supported by their #INEStalent nomination.

MODECENTER

Modecenter serves a dose of highly effective European crisis-rock. Hannes Gruber, Dieter Kienast und Michael Schneeberger dig into the raw musical energy of both minimalistic and megalomaniac noisy post-punk that doesn’t want to be held back by any set beliefs or ideologies.

“In any case, a band that would have earned the live stage with good noise already with their first single is Modecenter.” – Radio FM4

NICHI MLEBOM

Nichi Mlebom is the moniker of the Austrian Brno-based musician and producer Julian Werl. What was meant to be an experiment to learn various recording techniques evolved quickly into a full blown solo project. Lo-fi guitars melodies, sloppy rhythms, noise pop songs and topics such as mental health issues and moving to a different country. Currently, Nichi Mlebom plays live with a band consisting of members of the Czech bands sinks and True Fir.
