Austria at the Reeperbahn Festival 2023

Heartbeats @ Reeperbahn Banner

The Reeperbahn Festival is Europe’s premiere platform for pop culture and international musical talent. It’s happening this year from September 20 – 23 – just around the corner! – and as in previous years, a phalanx of Austrian artists will be making their way to northern Germany to take part. One highlight of the Reeperbahn Festival is always the Austrian Heartbeats Showcase, hosted by Austrian Music Export and Waves Vienna. This year, the showcase is taking place on Wednesday, September 20th at Indra (known, among other things, as the venue where the Beatles played their first German gig) and features a highly diverse quartet of hot new bands from Austria. The showcase kicks off with the indie singer-songwriter fiio at 8:30 p.m., followed by synth-pop from Rahel at 9:45, the stripped-down synth-punk of Anda Morts at 11 p.m., and the “avant-trash” stylings of Cousines Like Shit at 12:15 a.m.

…and so much more

Hamburg, it seems, is really into Austrian music (with good reason, we think). The Alpine Republic has had a strong showing there in recent years, and 2023 is no different: aside from the showcase participants, Austria will be represented by:
