We’re doing it again! In the run-up to the 2024 edition of the Waves Vienna conference & festival, Austrian Music Export and Waves invite studios, producers, and songwriters to apply for the 2nd Waves Heartbeats Songwriting Camp, happening from September 2-4! Applications are open from now until July 24th.
The purpose of the camp, organized by Austrian Music Export in cooperation with Waves Vienna, is to foster international networking, particularly with artists from this year’s partner countries – Colombia, Germany, and the Czech Republic.The three-day event will also showcase Vienna as a recording and production location, allowing the city’s many studios, producers, and opportunities a chance to present themselves and cooperate in curated, rotating combinations. The results will be presented to international professionals for feedback at a listening session during the conference, providing direct connections and a platform for presentation to an expert audience.
Now, all we need is you! We’re looking for participants in the following categories:
- Producers/hosts interested working on new music. Applicants should have a studio infrastructure able to accommodate international teams of 3-5 people on the workshop days (September 3-4).
- Songwriters to take part in the camp.
- Publishers interested in offering suggestions for singer-songwriters from their catalogs to participate.
- Labels interested in offering suggestions for recording/performing artists from their rosters to participate.
In principle, the camp is open to all genres; the musical direction(s) will depend on the participants. Since Waves Vienna is a co-sponsor, we suggest taking a look at the line-up of artists at the festival for guidance – the festival’s traditional concentration is broadly on pop/indie/electronic music.
Austrian Music Export will organize the teams, a welcome dinner on September 2nd, and the feedback/listening session, as well as providing accommodation and a public transport ticket (if needed) and a small allowace for food for all participants on the days of the camp. Please note that no further compensation is planned.
