L2MS, the Lille Metal Music Showcase, is the first European event bringing together professionals from the extreme music industry; its inaugural event will be held from February 6 – 8, 2024, in Lille, France. Several stages will feature 30 emerging metal bands from Europe and around the world, a conference series will address contemporary issues in metal music and society, and a dedicated lounge area will provide an area for management, labels, promoters, and other extreme music professionals to meet and network. The whole event will take place at the Rem Koolhaas-designed Lille Grand Palais, close to the city center and easily accessible by train, public transport, car, or plane. The venue also fulfills the EU’s ISO20121 standard for sustainable events.
Just the facts
The bands will be chosen by a jury of metal professionals; bands chosen to perform will play a 30-minute public showcase in a 1,000-person capacity venue. Additionally, the band (and one member of their entourage) will have access to the L2MS trade show and be able to participate in a workshop session with extreme music professionals. - Is playing 20 shows in 2023 but has not played more than 50 international shows since January 2022
- Has released at least one 5-track EP before October 2023
- Has at least one drummer and one guitarist (minimum two people on stage)
