From September 5 – 7, 2024, the strip of clubs and bars around Vienna’s Gürtel will once again be hosting Waves Vienna, our fair city’s premiere showcase festival and conference. Want to get in on the action? Now’s your chance – artist applications are open immediately until May 31st!
Waves Vienna, the annual 3-day music business extravanganza, features a live program with over 100 acts from around Austria and around the world. The conference program consists of a varied program of panel discussions, lectures by international speakers, workshops, master classes, and numerous opportunities for networking.
A particular highlight of the festival is the XA – Export Award, co-sponsored by mica – music austria, Austrian Music Export, austro mechana, and Radio FM4. A list of nominees is compiled by the partners, whose performances are evaluated by an international jury. The winner receives a cash prize, tour support from the Austrian Ministry of Culture, and the partners’ support in taking their first steps toward an international career – the winner in 2023 was the Vienna rapper BEX.
