The countdown has started for the presentation of the 17th AMADEUS AUSTRIAN MUSIC AWARDS. VOODO JÜRGENS and JULIAN LE PLAY are the two most nominated acts with five nominations each. ANDREAS GABALIER and LEMO are filling up with four nominations each. The middle field, with two nominations each, is made up of AVEC, BILDERBUCH, CHRISTINA STÜRMER, GRANADA, HANNAH, LEYYA, MAVI PHOENIX, NIK P., the NOCKALM QUINTETT, SEILER UND SPEER, THORSTEINN EINARSSON and WANDA who all have a very good chance of taking home an award.
James Blunt and Amy Macdonald have been confirmed as international star guests for the show portion of the program. Manuel Rubey and the Radio FM4 moderator Riem Higazi will be hosting the event which will be broadcast live (but time-delayed) by the TV partner ORF.
For the first time, the winners of the Amadeus Awards Genre Categories were announced before the award show. Voodoo Jürgens, Mynth, Serenity, Nazar, Ernst Molden, Pizzera & Jaus, DJ Ötzi & Nik P. and Andreas Gabalier each won an award in their respective genre.
HOW THE NOMINATIONS WORK
The Amadeus jury consists of around 110 experts from the music and media industries. The nominees were selected through a combination of jury evaluation and 2016 sales numbers. 50% sales success and 50% jury evaluations made up the end ranking of the nominees.
