5 Million Pesos is the monthly concert series of young jazz in and from Austria, a presentation of Radiokulturhaus Vienna and the Ö1 jazz department.

Tres Caballeros

Tobias Faulhammer – guitar
Gregor Aufmesser – double bass
Jakob Kammerer – drums

Thursday, June 13th, 8 p.m. @ RadioCafe

Due to illness, Duo Tschida/Faulhammer will not be able to perform this week (the concert will be rescheduled). In its place, Tobias Faulhammer presents his new trio project: the 33-year-old Vienna guitarist recently joined forces with bassist Gregor Aufmesser and drummer Jakob Kammerer – two equally well-known members of the young Vienna jazz scene. As Tres Caballeros, they pursue their passion for the intimate, relaxed sound of the classic jazz guitar trio, with role models like Bill Frisell and John Scofield, and a touch of folk and blues.

The repertoire includes standards, classics by Bob Dylan, and plenty of original material. The trio’s first album is set to be released at the end of 2024 on Cracked Anegg Records; this evening, 5 Million Pesos concertgoers will be treated to a preview of this coming attraction. With finesse and exquisite tasteTobias Faulhammer, and Jakob Kammerer celebrate well-aged grooves and airy sounds.
