Slowklang

Amina Bouroyen (voice, effects)

Robert Unterköfler (saxophones, clarinet)

Robin Gadermaier (electric bass, effects)

In the instrumentation – voice/saxophone/bass – the Vienna-based trio Slowklang creates unorthodox, decelerated soundscapes between song and advanced improvisation. Standards like “Out of This World” or “The Windmills of Your Mind” are transformed into surprising chamber music gems. This is somewhat reminiscent of the music of the “Speak Low” trio of the Berlin-based Swiss singer Lucia Cadotsch, but also points clearly in its own, slowed-down, highly concentrated directions. With Lower Austrian singer Amina Bouroyen, Carinthian saxophonist Robert Unterköfler (Ö1 Jazz Scholarship Winner of the Year 2018) and Melk-born electric bassist Robin Gadermaier, three exciting young talents of Austrian jazz make up the magic which is Slowklang.

In cooperation with the Ö1 jazz department.
